Channels enabling themselves ?

Every once in a while a channel gets added/enabled on my my Dish Network source.

The first time a Korean channel showed up on the program guide, i thought I had probably enabled it unknowingly. But more channels have been showing up (like two every month).

Is this an error that is causing disabled channels to get enabled ? Or could it be that Dish Network is adding new channels to the service and these get enabled in Sage by default ? Either way I need a fix.

We add new channels to the guide by default in case you want to use those channels with SageTV. Somewhere down the road we will change this behavior (or make it an option) to notify you there are new channels to consider and then let you choose which ones to add to the guide.

Thanks for confirming Dan.
Such an option would be great for me.
I subscribe to ONLY two (Indian language) channels from the Dish Network lineup. I get the rest from cable.
It's a bit of a nuisance to keep having to disable channels every now and then.

It can actually be more than annoying with Dish: My 322 receiver throws a "Channel Not Available" dialog box up whenever you tune to a channel that you don't subscribe to. You must press "Ok" or it won't change channels. Since Sage adds these channels automatically, and I use Intel. Rec., occasionally Sage will try to record something from a channel that I didn't even know was in my lineup, get the dialog, and that kills all my recordings until the next time I try to watch something and find out that it's been recording a stupid dialog box for the last 2 days.

I would definitely appreciate the ability to turn this off.

Thanks,

KevPriest
