Girder and Sagetv

I am hoping to get some advice from some of the more veteran users out there. I just got sage setup and running (and is currently recording ) However I plan to use the Meedio front end and am a little confused on what to do. I started off with using girder and the SendMessage function to communicate with sage, how ever that caused some wierd results. (The selection scrolled two quickly, when i pressed a button it acted like i was pressing the button 10 times in a row, i.e. I press up it scrolls 3 up for every one time i hit a button) So i disabled girder and used the native USB-UIRT support within saged which solved the problem described above. However I will eventually need to move to girder to use Meedio and Sage. Is it possible to either A. Fix the scrollling issue withing girder or B. Only use girder for Meedio use, and use Sage's builtin support for Sage use?

I also use girder to control Sage and I don't experience any of the symptoms you listed.

What remote are you using?
What version of girder are you using?
Did you make your own .gml or download it?
Can you post the gml that you're using now?

Answers to those questions should help us help you.

Jere

P.S. As a quick answer to the repeating problem, if you click on the Eventstring and look under the Learn Event button, you should see a block for the antirepeat time. Put 100 in there and it should slow it down. Adjust as necessary.

I am using a Radio Shack 8 in 1 remote model 15-2116. Girder version 3.3 and I downloaded a sample .gml for sage.

The girder file that you posted looks good. I'm assuming that you loaded it and then did a "Learn Event" for each command you wanted to use. Did you run into any problems during that?

Did the antirepeat help you any?

Jere

I may have had a problem Im not sure. When I clicked on Learn Event , I noticed iit was set to "Girder Event" so I switched it to "All" and I was able to learn the command successfully. I have not tried the anti repeat yet, i will get it a shot
