Talking Best Mpeg2 Player For Reviewing Hours of Video?

Hi all,

This is my first post, and you'll be glad to hear that I don't need any help getting SageTV to work on my multituner system. It works beautifully, even with rev 15 and 16 cards. Good job SageTV! I could use some advice, though. Here it goes...

I'm using SageTV w/ a pair of pvr250's to record a behavioral experiment w/ octopus. I got the idea of using tv cards for this from using my Creative Digital VCR at home. Each experiment runs for 24 hours so there's a lot of video to review, and I've found SageTV's fast forward doesn't work like the CreativeDVCR's software. I want some control over the speed of the ffwd, like you would have on your DVD player - 2x, 5x, 10x, etc. Does anybody have some suggestions for an MPEG2 player that has a nice fast forward, with multiple speed options? I don't want to miss the annihilation of any crabs .

I'm thinking about converting the files to Divx and using the Phillips dvd player that supports divx, but that's a lot of extra hassle.

winDVD does like 20x and 60x(not sure about this one, can't remember)
and a lot slower speeds as well

winTV that cames with the card can do regular fastfoward
