displaying smi file
How can I display smi subtitle in SageTV?
I got K-lite codec pack that has almost every codec on earth and made sure smi file can be played thru other players. I put both avi and smi file into the sage media library folder (both avi and smi file has the same name, except the extension) and try to access from SageTV, but the subtitle does not show up!! can someone help me? Thanks. |

Check out this FAQ entry for info about viewing CC. The malore and MalDude STVs (not sure about others) can use the smi files.

Isn't the faq about generating smi file, not displaying?

I didn't write that one, but I believe it covers both aspects, as you can't use them if you don't already have an smi file. Check out the STV it mentions.

Thanks!
I followed the FAQ page and it worked! But I did not have to use mpg2srt since it's used for generating smi files. So first, I downloaded and enabled CCinDVD registry key, then installed vsfilter. I had to look in Google to find out how to install vsfilter since the FAQ did not mention it. This is the small guide on how to install vsfilter. › To install the files, type: regsvr32 filename.dll › To uninstall the files, use: regsvr32 -u filename.dll That's all I did, and the subtitle worked!! |
