Problem running Sage as Service

For some reason I am not able to get the UI component to 'talk' to RC4 when run as a service. Single machine, AMD2800/512meg/pvr350/Nvidia5200

Whether the service is already running or not, when I try to start the UI it hangs at the splash screen with the message:

SageTV Service is initializing . . .

where it will hang permanently.

Stuff I've tried - using the tool or windows I can start and stop the service, I can run it as System or as my user account and watch it start and stop in the task manager. It doesn't matter whether it's already running or not, it doesn't matter if I am using hardware or software decoding, it doesn't matter which STV I am using and because it just screamed firewall problem I shut ZA down completely and made sure WinXP/SP2's was not running.

If if disable the service, Sage boots and run as it should. I just can't get the UI to 'talk' to the service although the service SEEMS to be running fine.

Any insight is appreciated.
