Image Size won't change

Hi

was wondering if anyone can help.
Im a uk PAL user using the PVR-350 tv out.
Im running 2.1.8 RC5, and it asked what country I was in and whether Im PAL or NTSC. I set it as pal and checked the sage.properties files. It had set mmc/video_format_code=8, which according to the forums is correct.

However I still have the large black bar (e.g. screen size too small) at the bottom of the screen, I can move the image around using the settings, but I can't get rid of it, even with overscan of 200% and large offsets.

It seems as if it's using a screensize of 480, no matter what I do.

any suggestions ?

Cheers

Mark

Check the manual for the "ui/fixed_resolution_height" property & set it to 576. You may need to set the registry it mentions too -- see approx page 177 of the 2.1 manual. Don't forget that you have to completely exit SageTV before editing the properties file.

Check the info about the "ui/fixed_resolution_height" property on page 177 of the manual.

Hi,

I set the UI value as specified in the manual.
No difference - I had checked the NTSC registry setting, and that was correctly set to zero.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Cheers

Mark

Did you totally shut down SageTV (inluding the service if you use it) before editing the properties file? Did you reboot after making the registry change?

Not sure how things work with the service (since I don't run it that way), but you might need to make the changes in the SageTVClient properties file also.

Hi MLS,

I did shutdown the service, etc and the properties file accepted my changes.
I didn't reboot at this point (the registery change was down several reboots ago).

I'll try rebooting now the properties file has changed, and then recheck.

Cheers

If you're running the service, you may have to make the changes in the SageTVClient properties file and not just in the SageTV properties file. Not really sure how that mess is supposed to work.
