I don't believe they are related. What I'm noticing is that once every two days or so I need to restart the comdetect manager. Once I do that things seem to run normally for a couple more days.

Is anyone that uses UNC paths for their recordings successfully comskipping using the latest beta STV? If I go back to CDM test C it works fine.

Playing "Ripped DVD's"

I'm having difficulty playing a ripped dvd. I'm nto sure if it's a problem or I'm doing something wrong. I'm sure it's just me Anyway, after running the rip dvd command I'm seeing the dvd folder that I just ripped. When I click on it, it shows nothing for file size (or something like that). When I click watch now nothing happens. I looked in the "dvds" folder and see it there. Any ideas??

I'm using dvd decryptor the way Cayars STV has it setup. It seemed to rip fine. The files are located in c:\dvds\(foldername of dvd). I have no trouble playing them stand-alone. I can't seem to figure out how to play them through Sage. I have Sage set to use external dvd player (TheaterTek). DVD's play fine in my drive.

Talking external commands for using zoomplayer as your player

I didn't see this info posted anywhere so I thought I put this up.
I had a problem getting zoomplayer to work as an exteranl player.
http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/parameters.shtml
that's where you can find all the commandline parameters you can use with zoomplayer.

DVD player:
"C:\Program Files\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe" /F /LOCKFS /DVD /VOL:100 /CD:E /PLAY /Q %1

the quotation marks are very important. they have to close right after zplayer.exe
/F means fulscreen mode,
/LOCKFS means lock into fullscreen mode (not sure how effective),
/DVD means dvd mode,
/VOL:100 sets the volume to 100%, I'm doing that because I'm using spdif to an external receiver,
/CD:E tells it the dvd drive, replace that with your drive letter,
/PLAY tells it to start playing,
/Q tells it to quit zoomplayer when done playing back. (VERY IMPORTANT)
%1 is the file passed from sagetv.

video player: (only for ripped dvd's)
"C:\Program Files\Zoom Player\zplayer.exe" /F /LOCKFS /VOL:100 %1\VIDEO_TS.IFO /Q

everything is the sme except no dvd mode, no dvd drive letter, and you have to change %1 to this %1\VIDEO_TS.IFO
as near as I can tell sage is passing the ZP the video_ts folder while in ZP I can tell it to open a folder apparently it doesn't want to get that as a commandline parameter. by making it receive the video ts folder with video_ts.ifo as the file in it everything works.

I also have some avi files in my movie folder and I use sage to play these back. there is a problem trying to play back individual files using my method b/c of the VIDEO_TS.IFO appended to the file name.

hope this is of use to someone

Carlo, I tested this as you requested, and it did not work. What I did were as follows:
1. Compressed file using default compression format setting (Divx I think).
2. Manually moved the .txt, .ccno, .vpr files over to the same folder that contained the new compressed files.

When I play the file I do not see any of the purple commercial breaks, maybe the STV is not set to look for them with this type of file...

Court for interim stuff finally done. VERY positive results all around. Taking the day off from everything, and watching NFL-related TV to decompress. As a result, lots more feedback. If I get inspired, I might actually FIX that darned PVR-250 and ship it RMA'd to Hauppauge. Maybe tomorrow.

Using v17 still. Assuming true to v18.x as well.

1) BUG: TV Recordings, 2 pane view. I've been taping "Super Bowl Highlights" and have most of the 38 recorded. When navigating the individual episodes with arrow up/down, it works great. When navigating with page up/down, then arrow up/down, it seems to lose focus on which episode is highlighted. The only way to get control back is to use arrow up/down again. I'm assuming there's an array that simply doesn't load all eps shown on the screen.

2) REQUEST: Same show example. It would be REALLY nice to have these sorted in some reasonable fashion. As it is, I can only assume "random", "hash", or "order recorded", although the last seems not true in my case (I think). Curious as to what it currently is; much more interested in sorting by episode ID, if available, title, if not.

3) QUESTION: Same show example. Viewing history is a terrific feature, given the numerous "bass masters" record errors over my Super Bowl Highlights. I want to track which, if any, I'm missing. Is it possible to link "Viewing History" to a keystroke, currently? If so, how?

4) QUESTION: Any progress on integration of items from my previous post?
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...3709#post83709

Thanks again, as always, Carlo!

See posts 2157, 2159, and 2342. I haven't tested this in any of the 18x betas, and you didn't say what version you were using, but it sounds like it hasn't been fixed yet.

I created a new thread for Feature Requests, maybe if we use this one for all of the STV feature requests we can keep track of the requests a little better. It's called "Cayars: Unofficial Feature Request Thread".

I have been running 18D2 since it was released along with 2.2.4. I just upgraded to 2.2.5 and noticed that there is a change in the way that CommercialDetection is processing files. It is now waiting to process the files until they are done recording. Before the upgrade it would start processing the files shortly after the recording starts.

Something else that I noticed (this was there before the upgrade) is that when I run CommercialDetection on two computers the first computer will delete the logo.txt file of a show that is being analyzed by Commercial Detection on the second computer. Is this normal?

Is anyone else seeing these issues?

UPDATE - Looking at things this morning it appears to be processing commercials in near real time. Not sure why it was not working like this last night but again appears fine this morning. Still having the issue with the logo.txt file being deleted but maybe that's normal.

HC

I'm getting a couple of messages showing up in sagetvclient_0.txt with Cayars17

1.
Quote:
ERROR Cannot find translation file for STV:java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name STVs\OriginalV2\Cayars17_i18n, locale
I can make this go away by copying C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\OriginalV2_i18n.properties to Cayars17_i18n.properties. Is it just me missing this file? I can't find it in any of the Cayars STV builds I have. SageMC has one though.

2. My log is filling up with this message. See attachment for full text.
Quote:
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 12
...
EXCEPTION in getValueAsObject:java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1
Only happens when running Cayars STV

Any ideas?

Well I'm just getting back into things. Rebuilding a large RAID (over 2TBs) is painful. At least backus were good

I'll be addressing things shortly.

Are your paths the same on both computers? On my server everything is R:TV, thus on both my clients I have a drive mapped as R: which has the media stored in TV so that on both the server and the clients everything is identical. If this is not the case then the STV will not find the comskip info and thus has no idea that it's out there.
