Problems with dual display
Hello,
I can't get Sagetv working on either screen when I set the desktop to extend to my second display. When I disable the second screen Sagetv works fine. I can playback the same files using WMP in dual display on either screens windowed or in full screen mode. The error message I'm getting is: Mpeg2Video Error There was an error with the MPEG-2 video setup. Please consult the log file and report the error. Failed connecting video stream to the Overlay Mixer. I can hear the audio playing. On my old system, I think it did work in dual display. My current video card is the integrated g-force on an n-force 2 motherboard, my old system was a matrox g400. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks, Derek Law |

I have had the sme problem. I have an nForce-2 chip set and the only monitors presently set at a tv (via 2video) and a projector. The tv is my primary. It seems that if I try to use video overly, I get the same message you got. If I make the projector a clone of the TV, everything works, well sort of. It seems that there is some problem in either the sagetv or hauppauge software, because the video on the tv looks really bad when running 2 monitors. When I play DVDs, both projector and tv look very good.

You might need to try a different Video Decoder. I found the following to be true on my system:
Elecard works fine on any display, I have tested it with 3 monitors so far (2 displays from an ATI 9000 AGP and 1 from an ATI 7500 PCI). The ATI decoder only provides video on the first display. Cyberlink PowerDVD works on display 1 or 2, and WinDVD 5 only displays on the display identified as "Primary". |

I solved it on my system. For some reason I had the rendering filter on overlay. When I changed it back to default (VMR) that problem went away.
