And if so, make sure there's a way to keep them turned OFF!!! The last thing I want is my MVP sounding like a freekin' TiVo!

Nope, there is no way to tell the MVP to play navigation sounds.

Smile MVP Client Version 1.2.0 is now available

FYI, the MVP Client Version 1.2.0 is now available on streams.ch.

The most notable changes are the addition of permanent MVP Client to SageTV Client binding in multi-MVP setups, configurable MVP IP addresses for setups where no DHCP server is available and the fix for the Music playback problems with SagetV 2.2.7.

Note: this version requires SageTV 2.2.7 or later.

See the Changelog for more details.

Enjoy!

Just upgraded from 1.1beta6 to 1.2. I had to shutdown and restart the several times before the video was sync correctly. I was just about to give up and go back to previous version. But everything is working now.

Thanks Matt. v1.2 Works correctly for me.

I just shut down my sage client, unzipped it, deleted the sage.properties and CMD file from the new unzipped package, and copied the new files over the old files.

Update your Java Runtime Engine to the latest version from Sun. That should clear up the above issues.

Just setup 1.2.
All seems fine. The GUI seems a little quicker and the FFwd/Rwd seems to be a bit more stable than it ever used to be

Still no brightness control for the MVP then
The MVP still has an incredibly dark screen for me, causing dark scenes to get lost almost entirely.
Please someone - I'm begging - I'll pay good money (really ) for a brightness control for the MVP.

Anyway, enough begging.......Well done for another great release!!

Have you checked the latest MVP software from Happague to see if they might have a brightness control you can set? The only other thing I could think of is make sure you pick a decoder on your PC box that is running for the Sage/MVP client that isn't the same as another decoder that you may run on the same box for a Sage PC client. Then try the actual decoder's settings for brightness to see if that helps. The brightness level on my Sharp Aquos LCD TV is actually very bright and works great with my MVP.

Surely all the decoding is done on the MVP, so it doesn't matter what decoder is selected in the setup of the client.

You're right-I thought it was something you might try.

Going through the SHS PVR forum I came across some posts that describe your problem exactly.

Dark screen issues

It appears to be a hardware issue. It appears that certain revisions had the problem. (D3 and D3A had it. E1 didn't)

You might want to try and get your unit swapped out. (Or try a composite connection if you're using SCART.)

I'm having trouble getting the 1.2 version to connect. After I upgrade I had to restart the MVP and the client several times before it would display anything. But I finally got it connected, and I watched TV for a couple hours with no problems.

Then I turned the MVP off, just to make sure it would come back, and now I can't get it connect. I had 1.1beta6 previously and I used the sage.properties and mvp.properties files from that installation.

Yep, I stream the media files directly off the harddisk to the MVP. No processing is done on the PC on playback.

I have the word from Hauppauge development that brightness control is not possible with the MVP. Don't know if this really is true but it's probably safe to assume Hauppauge wiil not (be able to) add brightness control anytime soon...

@Rick: please check your PM. I'd need a log file from you to be able to tell what is going on.

i have a new problem

when i look a recording show and this comes to end, the client will use 100% of cpu power for some times. after 2 or 5 minutes all is ok, but in this time the mvp will no work with the remote or will do somethings. some times this will also when i look the recording show after 10 or 20 minutes.

but i think this is not a problem from the mvp client, i read also in this forum from other people they have this problem withaout the mvp client.

this is really bad

i have found that the brightness is some better here in germany when i have change the rgb scart cable to other models. now i have a model whit this is the picture really great.

Have you tried hitting STOP twice when it gets to the end of recordings?

Just for the record, end of file (or hitting STOP once in a file) behavior does seem to have changed. Although I'm not seeing quite the same thing you are.
