MediaMVP connectivity

Could a MediaMVP connect straight to a monitor such as this one?

Since it has s-video and composite connectors, yes.

However, since s-video and composite cannot carry resolutions higher than 480i, the monitor's support for higher resolutions would be wasted.

It will look pretty bad too since the LCD has to scale the 720x480i resolution to its native resolution and from my experience on this monitor it does a really bad job of scaling a 640x480P image to 1600x1200. It looks horribly blocky and fuzzy. It is worse when close up, but why pay so much for a device that will not look as good as a larger standard def TV for less money. I know CRTs are bigger, but when it comes to standard definition TV they look way better. A 32" CRT will cost half that price.

Now if you had a full blown PC client I would say go with this monitor in a heart beat and connect it via DVI and scale it with software...this looks very good, I do this with my HDTV and it makes my crappy analog cable look better than directly on the TV via coax.
