Lost Key

I can not believe this is not at the top of the FAQ but I have lost my key email and have formatted the HD of the client so I'm installing a new client.

How do I get my key sent to me again.

I'll put some serious money on this being in the top ten FAQ

I would suggest printing a copy of any license keys for any software you buy & store them in one place so they are easily available should all your PC data be lost.

I just got through reading that thread that that quote came from.

I appreciate you pointing to the quote.

The key was in a saved email folder, copied to a "KEYS" directory AND printed out.

However, I'm in the process of moving and I have no idea where my wife has decided to put the paper version and, due to some oversight on my part, it appears I may have lost access to the data versions.

Many companies that do business over the web have automated systems that can resend keys to the original owners email address. It appears that Frey is not one of them yet.

I would think this gets asked a lot though.

EDIT: My apologies to Opus for anyone who read the earlier unnecessary version of this post.

Email has been sent to Frey so I'm sure I'll be back in business shortly.

Funny thing is, I was halfway through upgrading to the new beta so my server is now out of sync, otherwise I would just use the trial version till I hear from them. My Server version I just installed over the top which didn't re-ask for the key.

I think you need to read that thread again. I was not the one accusing anyone of piracy. Next time read more carefully.

I appreciate you pointing to the quote but your other helpful tip, pointing out the obvious, is not very constructive. In fact, it could be taken as condesending.
I try to be thorough in my answers. Including a comment to save a printed copy is being thorough, not accusing you of being stupid.

Although you weren't as abrasive with me as you were in that thread you quoted from, you might want to consider being a bit more friendly.
You asked a question and I answered it. I was not abrasive in either thread. I think you are the one being abrasive here, since you can't even accept an answer intended to help you -- the co-founder of the company said what to do and I quoted his statement. How could that be anything other than assisting you by answering your question?

I purposely didn't post a link to that other thread, since I thought some comments there from other people were uncalled for -- mostly those comments about assuming the person was trying to use a pirated copy of the software.

Goodbye.

My apologies.

Frustration clouded my ability to think clearly. I plead temporary insanity because I couldn't get my FoxNews Election coverage fix. All my TV's are packed.
