Direct serial control to Pioneer (SA) digital box
How? Where can I get a cable and how do I set SAge up? This is a round (6 pin?) serial connector on the back of the box. Thanks for any help
Andy

k, I have been doing some research. The round serial cable it only used for controling an external vhs vcr. There is a usb port on the cable box that will allow you to change chanels using a standard key board.
Has anyone ever tried to use a usb to serial cable like this http://www.cablestogo.com/product.as...=101&sku=26886. Then use the built in sagetv serial control. I have been thinking of how in the world to make this work. I already have so many blasters in my house that I can't stand another one. |

I could make it work if I wrote a C# plugin into sage that would send the command output through the usb port. This can be done with usblib and a .net wrapper. I just really don't have the time to work on that. I figured someone must have done this, but maybe everyone is as lazy as myself
