Sage deleted files
I had a problem today where my Sage server could not be found and I rebooted the machine. When I went to watch a program later I found out some of my programs were gone. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why. I had 6 episodes of CSI: New York and deleted 4 of them. It deleted 10 out of 12 of my Andromeda episodes. I thought maybe it was date-related, but I still have some programs that are older. This is the first time I have had major problems and would like to keep it from happening again if possible. Any ideas? I am pretty bummed and don't know exactly which episodes I have missed. I like Sage, but is it that unstable?

Have you checked to see if the files are phyically still there and not just seen by Sage? (hope hope) Fortunately I've not had that problem or WAF wise I'd be dead meat!

What version are you using?
A couple initial comments: There was a 'feature' in the past where all non-favs & non-Manual Recordings would be deleted if Intelligent Recordings was off. I'm wondering if there was some sort of database problem that changed some of those settings. Check that the video dirs didn't get set to use less disk space somehow -- or that there isn't something chewing up disk space & SageTV was set to leave X GB free. - Andy

Files are gone. That was my hope, too.

I checked the directory settings and they are the same with the same settings. I have well over 90Gb left in the video directory so I don't think space is the issue. I will probably never know since I don't know why the server became unreachable. Probably a database problem, but not sure why it deleted the files it did.
Also, I am using 2.1 |

Check this thread for a possible utility to recover the files anyway.
In v2.1, they should not have been deleted due to the 'feature' I mentioned above. It had a problem w/deleting files that are moved & are not favs, but you didn't move them. I would set the property "seeker/clear_partials_and_unwanted_when_ir_off=false" anyway to prevent that one other remaining known problem. (The one I know about is fixed in v2.2.2) - Andy
