Upgraded to 2.1; Now no capture cards found
I just upgraded to version 2.1, and was shocked to find Sage no longer recognizes my PVR-250. After the install, it jumped to the setup wizard, where I am greeted with the following:
"Please select the video capture device below that you wish to configure at this time. To configure multiple tuner support, you will need to rerun the Setup Wizard for each input source." Problem is, nothing is listed below! I haven't changed anything. All I did was backup my SageTV folder, and run the 2.1 setup. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but that didn't do it. I also checked the WinTV app, and it tunes channels just fine. Is this a common problem? Perhaps one with an easy fix? |

It isn't listed as an existing source in Setup -> Setup Wizard?
Check out the Updated DLL for tuner related issues in SageTV v2.1. But, if that is the issue, the fix is contained in the latest beta: v2.2.2. Also check that your properties file doesn't have your tuner listed on the mmc/ignore_encoders line for some reason. - Andy

I don't know what's going on, but it makes me wish I hadn't upgraded. Maybe I shoud go back to 2.0 |

You could try the somewhat-drastic step of copying your existing properties file & its backup to another directory, deleting both existing files, & reconfiguring completely. Save a copy of your wiz.bin file too, though you shouldn't have to delete that one.

heh... I forgot to suggest that old standby: "Give it a while & see if it starts working". I'm not sure which one works best... that one or "Give it a whack". (That last one never worked on any of my hard drives, though.)

I found that 3-4 times during the last 3 months, there was a reboot probably due to a crash. When starting SageTV after that, the capture cards would be gone.
Restarting and loading SageTV again and the cards appear again without any configuration necessary. |
