SageTV 2.1 and Recording Conflicts
I just upgraded to SageTV 2.1 and everything went fine except that now I get a lot of recording conflicts that I didn't used to get. I can can get rid of the conflicts by going to the Setup Wizard and clicking on Complete Source Setup but they will reappear the next few times I go into Recording Schedule.
It is almost as if SageTV 2.1 can't remember that it has a network encoder on another system. Anyone have any ideas? Karen

I don't remember whether that was one of the glitches in v2.1, but it did seem to have some tuners problems. There is a link to a new v2.1 dll here. Also, have you tried the latest beta (v2.2.2) to see if it still occurs? If you do try it, be sure to keep backup copies of your properties files & wiz.bin, in case you decide to revert to a previous version.

Well, I was wrong. I am still getting the intermitant recording conflicts. As before, it seems as if SageTV suddenly forgets that it has a network encoder available to it for recording. But I noticed a new thing today, both the primary SageTV recorder and the network encoder were both recording shows when started to view the show that the primary encoder was recording. This action caused the conflicts to pop up again and it took me about 20 seconds to make them go away. When I went to watch the show recorded by the network encoder, there was a gap of about 20 seconds roughly in the place where the conflicts popped up.
This never happened with SageTV 2.0, only after I upgraded to 2.1 did it start to occur. Anyone have any ideas? Karen

You might try setting tuner priorities in properites file.

You might also want to upgrade to 2.2.2. as I think some of your issues were fixed in that release.

mdmint,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have tuner priorities set such that the tuner in the SageTV computer has the highest priority. The network encoder is used only when there is a conflict. Karen
