Do multiple servers share info?

Looking through the docs and searching the FAQs I don't see this specifically addressed - I'm just wondering if I setup 2 or 3 Sage Servers each with their own decoder card, will they "share" recorded show information if I setup each of their libraries to "see" the recordings directory of the other boxes on the network? Or does the remote thing only work with the client package? I'm hoping it can just show the entire recorded show library and regardless of if it's on the local server or a remote one it'll just play for me.

It'd be ideal if multiple servers shared scheduled recording information as well but I'm reasonably sure that's down the road a way if its on the radar at all.

Either that or I can change plans and have one big server with all the decoder cards with massive cooling fans installed and hide it in a closet somewhere and just use small clients through the house. My tests this weekend with heat, load and sound levels are convincing me having this thing out in the living room with Haupauge cards in it is not going to cut it...

The short answer is no, they don't share info. The more complicated on is that you can view recordings from another Sage server, you would set it's recording directory as an import directory. However none of the scheduling, viewing etc info is shared across servers.

I think that this would be the preferred option, and probably what a number of us are doing. The cards themselves don't induce much noise, but cooling the storage gets quite noisy.

Do be accurate, Sage is designed to have only one server. If you need other systems on the network to have encoders than you would use SageRecorder on those systems. That way the network encoders would be controlled by the server and "share" the EPG, recording directories, and recorded show info. This is actually a better way to do it than multiple servers since Recorder is less money and all the data is under centralized control.

I think at this point, though, I'm heading down the path of a large, well cooled (i.e. loud) server with multiple decoder cards and a large HD array crammed in my wiring closet and setup some nice fanless clients (papa likes the Hush boxes, just a little pricey) to run Sage clients on them for playback purposes.
