How to use an external player

I want to use PowerDVD for all my media files instead of Sage's internal player on all my Client PCs. What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

in 16?

I have looked at that thread from begining to end. Waht I see is that it can use an external dvd player. How would I use PowerDVD to play other media files as well? Specifically I want to be able to play the H.264 mp4 files from Nero Recode. I would like the external player to only open files with mp4 extension. But would live if it had to open all video files.
Maybe I missed something in the thread?

You didn't miss anything dvd_maniac. It's an all or nothing thing in 16 at the moment. I'm pretty sure I'll be releasing a patch to 16 in a few days as I'm sure a few little bugs will turn up since it's such a big release.

I'll probably add this functionality in the patch so you can select the extensions to use for the external music and video players. I'll probably also allow passing multiple movies/music from a playlist also.

I actually wanted to add this in 16 but apparently forgot to stick it on my TODO list.
