Lots of ideas but useless without more information. Please give specific details of your hardward setup and your Sage audio settings. BTW, does sound work with other apps? (like media player)

Yeah, sound works fine on everything. I just do not have any sound on channels 17-22 and on channel 48.
Celeron 2.0 w/ 256 megs ram Hauppauge pvr-150 w/ remote Onboard sound on a Emachine t-2042 mainboard Radeon 9250 video card using the s-video output Im using dual monitors running my Mp3 touchscreen juke on one monitor and sagetv on the other within my entertainment center I'm using all the latest drivers and have reinstalled several times but still see the sound problem. I've tried disabling the juke with no success Ideas? |

Oops, I totally misunderstood your original post! I thought you meant didn't have sound output "to" 5 channels, as in 5.1 sound!
Ok, 5 station channels don't seem to record sound, correct? Do they have sound tuned direct to TV not through Sage? If yes, do Sage recordings of those channels played back outside of Sage have sound? If no sounds like it could be a PVR issue, but don't know for sure. I'd contact Hauppauge support.

Ok I've gotten a little further into my problem. At first I could not get wintv to tune the same exact channels. But by clicking the channel then using the fine tune option I am able to tune them in winTV. Now, How do I fine tune the channels in SageTV?

I do not know how to do it
but I know it is possible I think you need the frequency of the channels then you edit the registry hopefully someone will response and give the exact answer hang in there and report bug to Sage |

alright here's a little more. I decided to run my cable straight to the HTPC rather than through my VCR first. I now have sound on 2 more channels that I did not have before. Weird Huh?

use a splitter then and connect the cable to the VCR and to the pvr card(s)
and connect the VCR directly to the TV/receiver you will like this much better |
