Just got USB UIRT

I have two cable boxes I want to control, so I just bought & received my USB-UIRT from Frey's. I have 1 box hooked up right now via ir200L. Do I NEED to buy a couple of emitters? Where can I find detailed setup instructions? Also, is the UIRT all the hardware I need to custom program my remote control? I have the Hauppauge and ATI Remote Wonder. Which is better. IYHO? What remote would work better to also control other applications? I use Cayars STV which uses third party apps for video and dvd playback and want better control of them.

You only need extra emitters if the boxes are the same & use the same IR codes. If that is the case, then you'll need to set up zoned output. In the hardware forum, there is an index thread for remote info -- check it for a link to USB-UIRT instructions.

Both boxes use the same remotes, so yes I guess I will have to setup zones. Anybody out there use a remote control with PowerDVD 6? Does the UIRT with Girder installed give me everything I need to program either the Hauppauge ot ATI remotes to work with Sage and PowerDVD 6, or should I be looking for a new one?

Also, can I find these emitters at Radio Shack or do I need to order them online somewhere?
