Are you by some chance exiting SageTV instead of putting it to sleep?
If you were using the service, are you sure that it is still enabled & in use? - Andy

There appear to be some issues with SageTV (2.2.2) and S3 suspend. I have done a lot of testing with it. I have a bug report filed with Frey about 2 particular and seperate issues:
1. After Sage resumes the system from S3 suspend, Sage crashes itself when in the process of returning the system to a suspended state after making its scheduled recording(s). Only one contiguous scheduled recording(s) can be made. Sage does not crash out when I suspend and resume the system repeatedly, only when Sage itself is handling the suspend / resume cycles does it commit suicide. 2. Video is choppy / stuttery after Sage has been through an S3 suspend cycle (Suspend / Resume cycle handled by myself since Sage kills itself when cycling on its own). Sage must be completly closed and restarted to remedy the choppy video. The above symptoms are repeatable and consistant. I have tried all kinds of things including but not limited to different codecs, overlay instead of VMR, disabling a multitude of different services and devices. The result is always the same. I have not tried Hibernation (S4) so not sure of any specifics in this mode. I am not using the Sage Service. DFA
