It's not a hardware encoder and I'd be surprised if it works in MCE.

I didn't think MCE required hardware encoder cards. If it does, then it wouldn't work with the ATI AIW cards (which I thought was the main capture cards for MCE)?

Think I'll have to go investigate MCE a bit more.

My MCE machine came with 2 Conexant cards (hardware encoders). They worked just fine with sage .

MCE 2005 does not officially support ATI cards, except for their Ehome Wonder, and HDTV wonder for HD only. MCE 2004 did support the ATI cards like the AIW's. Somebody hacked the AIW drivers for MCE 2004 to make them work on MCE 2005, but I hear they do not capture a very good image like hardware ones.

I would go with a PVR 150 from Hauppauge. They are only in the $60's and can't be beat right now for the price. The E-home Wonder is around that price range but I am not sure is as easy to set up.

Looks like a definite maybe. But definitely NOT supported by Frey. From the picture on NewEgg it does appear to have a Conexant chip though couldn't tell which one. Found the mfg site and no specific info...
http://www.kworld.com.tw/en/product/...erminator.html Bottom line would be buy it and try it at your own Frey and Sage unsupported risk!

Agreed that it's a maybe, but the E-Home Wonder and Avermedia M150 are known to work with Sage and are about the same price.

Also the 150MCE is only a little more than that, and it's definitely supported.

The avermedia UltraTV1500MCE is supported by both MCE and Sage. ~$73 on newegg. This is what I have used for both (MCE'04, Sage2.1 demo).
