Video encoding rates - Would like to remove.

Hi,
I am having a fit with the sage.properties file. I want to remove all of the default video encoding selections from the sage.properties file and add three of my own. But everytime I do this and rerun sage it puts all of the old ones back in with the new ones that I have added. Running the latest 2.22 sagetv.

Anyone have any ideas? I spent the better part of two hours trying to get this to work last night.

Thanks,
Marcus

As you've discovered, you are fighting a losing battle where the heads of the beast will always regenerate. Those defaults are there by default and, by default, they will be restored to their default values if you delete them.

Just add your new custom recording quality settings & leave the others.

Figured this out the hard way myself.

By the way, new Sage owner operator here. Thanks for having me.

I have to say, this stinks in a big way. With the Plextor and its DivX/MPEG-4 options, there are 25 default choices and some of them have descriptions so long it's a joke. Here's one:

DivX Certified Home Theater Medium Quality

The menu to select a quality level is literally a mess. I hope someday they allow an override setting so that the encoding profiles do not overwrite.

I'm jdogi and I stand behind this post.

EDIT:
I can't even change the order to put the ones I like at the top as they are alway alphabetical and for obvious reasons, I can't change their names.

I've officially hit my first major disappointment with Sage.
