Hmm, new Hauppauge HD card coming?

From the Hauppauge listing on the CES website http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/dire...?exhibid=7119& :

Hauppauge will be displaying their latest WinTV products for TV watching and recording. The new MediaMVP will be demonstrated, in addition to the hi-definition TV receiver, the WinTV-HD.

If it's true hopefully Sage will support it.

Andy

The WinTV-HD is a really old, and widely regarded as crappy HD card. If it's the old version then there's nothing worth mentioning, if it's new then perhaps.

I would hope that they're not referring to the old one. Hasn't that been a dead product for a while now?

Now if it would have a CableCard slot.... (I know, I'm dreaming)

That was my point, but SHS, that's encouraging news.

Oh well... same old story in the PC world: I just bought an MVP, so now it is time for them to release a new one. I wonder what has changed there...

I was at CES today and stopped by the Hauppauge booth. They confirmed they are working on a new HD card, but they guy there didn't know the details of whether or not it would be ATSC only or whether QAM was supported too. Either way, a new product is definitely coming.

Also saw Sage running on the media MVP front end. It looked a little clunky compared to the PC version, but seemed functional.

Thanks,
Mike

So, was the MVP indeed the so-called Sage media extender for 3.0?

By any chance, did you notice whether there were details about their new MVP that was mentioned in the first post? Thanks.
