There is no 2.2.10, but there is a 2.1.10. v2.2 only goes up to 2.2.3 so far.

Do you have a log file from when you were using the new DLL? I'd like to see what dimensions it was calculating for the destination... I think you'd need to have verbose_log turned on for that info, though.

I was expecting it to be 2.1 since there is no sage debug log. Guess it is time for me to downgrade my dev box and do some testing...

Ok, Sage is version 2.1.10 with the Original STV.

When I tried to set the stream_all_mpegs to false Sage fails to start playback and shows black screen with pause button. It makes no difference whether file is recordingn or not. But like I said earlier, first show I open after starting Sage always works perfectly all the way through. Just got done watching the Eagles and Patriots games flawlessly.

Have you tried setting the osd_rendering_height_ntsc and osd_rendering_width to set the size of the OSD to match your 1080i display? I'm wondering how it looks, how much it slows things down, etc. Thanks!
I have to be honest, I'm really new with working with hdtv and am not even sure what resolution i am running on the 1080i display. Where can I look to check this?

Thanks again for the help,
Marc

Hey, I think I have it. Now I haven't tested it because I'm on my laptop, but I was purusing the log files, found something interesting that caused me to go back and look at the properties file you posted. There is a bug in there now but the real problem is that you have your aspect ratio mode set to Source. Since your source video is 480x480, that is how it is being displayed. Try changing it to Fill. It is in Detailed Setup->Multimedia

I'll change that setting tonight and report back! My question is why did 0.0.2 work fine with the setting at 'Source' and the newer versions not? I'll set everything to 'Fill' and see how it goes! Thanks for all the extra work on this for me!

0.0.2 worked because I had 720x480 hard coded into the plugin. I'm now attempting to honor the placement/dimensions that Sage sends.

Does anybody know how to launch a DVD via command line using the X-card DVD player? I'm using Carar's V. 16 and would love to be able to launch the chosen DVD via the STV and have it pull up that DVD to play via the X-Card's output.

Thanks!

I don't know about the command line args but I can tell you that it won't work while Sage is open. At least not unless one of the STV has put in a call to close the OSD while the external command is being run.

Well, this is the problem:

12:19:53 - <setupXCardOsd>: No OSD board found (ERROR: 80040154/Class not registered )

I've never seen that or heard it reported. You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xcard drivers and applications and see what you get. If that doesn't work, we can try registering a couple of things by hand.

Tom,
I figured that was the problem. I just uninstalled the card and installed it with the drivers from the Sigma website. Still the same problem. Odd thing is that I can still see video, just not the OSD.

What else is there to try?

Chris

Cayars can do this with his 'external' programs plugin.. it basically shuts down sage while the external app is running, then starts it back up again when that app closes.. I use a client for my viewing so having sage start and stop while the DVD plays isn't a problem. I just haven't found any way to pass the dvd name via command line to the XCard DVD player yet..

Where there is a will, there is a way... and with this group... I KNOW there is a way!

Poking around the sigma designs discussion forum I didn't find much but there was this from SD:

The command line you can use is

skingui playlist.lst

or skingui mympegfile.mpg (or myavifile.avi)

Those of you experiencing the fastforward freezing issue, could you please try this DLL and let me know if it works better for you? Thanks!
