Good news! I got an email back after sending in the bug submission which said they are working on a fix for this. Thanks to everyone for the responses with detailed info on what happened on your computer. These would have been very helpful, but now since Frey is aware of the problem we don't have to worry about it.

I got another email from Frey:

"We've resolved the issue now. Thanks for the help. The fix is in 2.2.3 which
should be available soon."
