DirectTV RCA D10 serial control issues

I've seen a few threads involving serial control of the new D10s - I have two older RCA boxes that work through serial control no problem - I went out and got a new d10 at Best Buy and it has the low speed serial port on back, everything seems like it'd be cool - however the serial control does not work with that box.

Poking around on the MythTV forums I see them talking about the "new" RCA codes vs. the "old" RCA codes used here - they're banging on scripts to account for the different codes, but I'm not entirely sure what they're doing.

Is there any mechanism for dealing with this in Sage? Guess I'll poke around and find an older RCA box I can trade for or something - using an IR blaster to change channels on this box is not an attractive option since the serial stuff works so smoothly on my other two tuners.
