create a folder for the imported video inside your imported video folder. IE
Import folder= E:\import Video=Troy create E:\import\troy\troy.mpg Now create a file named troy.my (Whatever the video file name is with the .my extension Open the .my file and add three lines title= overview= released= Now type the Title of movie IE: title=Troy Now overview (I Copy & Paste overview from Netflix.com) overview= blah blah blah blah etc... released is just the year obviously released=2004 these are the only three things you can attach so if you want more I would put it in after released. IE: released=2004____Length 180 minutes____Rating 8.9 As for the picture? Just place a picture in the folder and name it the same as the other two. IE: troy.jpg Sometimes it does not show up. There might be a resolution limit. I will have to check on this. Hope this helps you out.... |

The default STV does not make use of any .my file or any other source for desription information for imported videos. In the v2.1 PDF manual (in your SageTV dir), see teh Video Library section starting on p. 80 for more info on importing videos & DVDs with thumbnails.
To have details listed for imported videos, you'll have to look into one of the custom STVs that might do that. - Andy

If you mean "how do I use the results in SageTV", then you would read the section of the manual I just referenced for you above & it will contain a link for DVD usage that leads to Appendix I. - Andy
