SageTV Recorder exposed API

I’d like to use SageTV Recorder from a web app instead of the GUI. Does SageTV Recorder have an exposed API?

I don't know if this has been answered elsewhere, but I've managed to (just about) control some aspects of sage recorder using its remote recording interface (or whatever its called).

All I can do at the moment is to start and stop recording to a file from an external program. I use this to monitor the "record" signal from my sky digibox.

I can share what I have with you - it works over TCP/IP so you have to be able to program a bit using sockets.
