Problem with suspend (S3, pvr-150+250)

Well the problem is as follows:
Whenever the htpc comes out of S3 suspend, and then tries to record anything through SageTV, it gives an recording error.

If I go to the hardware manager, and deactivate the PVR-250 & 150 (My only 2 capture cards), then reactivate them rightafter (no rebooting), they work fine.

Is there any app that could turn off certain hardware when going into suspend, and reactivate them when coming out of suspend?

(Or when coming out of suspend, deactivate & reactivate certain hardware?
My Sigma Netstream doesn't want to come out of S3 also, and this way it works.)

Giving up Suspend is not an option, because I don't want this HTPC running 24/7. (only when it needs something to record)

Thanks in advance.

Yep. Devcon.exe will control device drivers and is command line. Can just restart drivers as well.

I use it to automatically disable and enable a non-ACPI compliant driver that I have through suspend / resume cycles.

Look for devcon.exe on MS's site w/ instructions.

Thanks!
This works great. Now I only need to know how to make it either:
1. restart certain devices at resume of S3
2. stop device when going into S3, restart device when coming out of S3

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated...

I would suggest using girder to detect when the PC goes into and comes out of s3. You can still find 3.2 free on the net.

I use Girder to run a Devcon "disable" batch file on Suspend (polite) event and a Devcon "enable" batch file on Resume event.

Here is what my XCard driver "enable" batch looks like:

@echo off
D:\Utilities\DevCon\devcon.exe enable pci\ven_1105
exit
