Windows XP SP2 patch breaks SageTV audio?

I think I've discovered a conflict between a Windows XP Professional patch for Service Pack 2 and Sage TV. I had enabled "Automatic Updates" on my SageTV box after I recently applied Service Pack 2, and this evening, when I tried to watch some of my recorded shows, SageTV gave an error message about a problem with audio decoding. Turns out the culprit was the most recent patch to XP that the system had installed automatically, KB834707. After I uninstalled that patch, the error went away.

My system is using the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250 MCE and a USB-UIRT to control my satellite receiver, and as I said, I'm running XP Pro (not the XP Media Center Edition) with Service Pack 2.

Anybody else seen this problem?

Hmm, I've applied that patch to all my machines, and no problems so far.

I also installed SP2 (and all the subsiquent patches) without any effect on SageTV - I was worried it might break something, but it was pretty painless.

Also running WinXP Pro all machines. I installed Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB834707) Dec 15, 2004 on this my main workstation which runs Sage Client, it's also been applied to Sage Server, main HTPC and Debi's PC (also with Client). No audio conflicts with Sage seen anywhere.
