Arrow STV: SageMC Part 2

As stated in the original SageMC thread, I'll be continuing the development of the SageMC STV. I need to be able to edit the top post in a SageMC thread so I've started this second thread to continue the discussion around this STV, I have setup some a few resources to aid in development.

STV Wiki page: I will be setting up a page on the Sage Community wiki for this STV. This isn't done yet, but when it is, I'll update this post with the link.

Forums: Having all of the information related to an STV in a single monster thread makes life difficult. It's hard to find useful information and have discussions about individual topics. Because of this I set up some forums for the STV. They can be reached via:
http://sage.welchkin.net/forums

Issue Tracker: Feel free to submit bugs, improvements, or feature suggestions via the issue tracker. You can also just use the forums if you prefer, and I'll create the issue in the tracker if it makes the cut. Either way is fine. It can be reached from via:
http://sage.welchkin.net:8090/itracker

Making the email address field light gray on white on the registration page is just plain silly!.
I've subscribed, but not received any confirmation, probably because I got the email address wrong.
I've activated your account on the forums manually. I'll try a new PHPBB theme. I agree the one I'm currently using utilizes a font that's a tad small.

There appears to be a problem with the forums that causes it to not not send out activation emails for some people. I've searched the PHPBB forums for help but I haven't found a solution yet. If you create an account and don't receive an activation email, let me know here in this thread and I'll activate you manually.

I've added a couple of new themes to the forums at http://sage.welchkin.net/forums. The "bluetabs" theme was indeed a bit difficult to read. You can change the theme/style that is used by logging in and editing your profile.

Thanks. Seems I did actually have the email address right, Just got no email.

It might be worth changing the default style to something a little more visible. Classic seems quite readable.

There is a discussion currently underway about a significant change to SageMC's navigation scheme. If you use this STV but don't visit the SageMC forums regularly, you may want to pop in and voice your opinion.

Certainly... I am sure a few of us were excited way back when you said you were working on a new project. I guess that's not why you stopped developing SageMC.

Have you seen the Blue 2 skin Media Portal has now? That would be something nice for you to work on... (with permission of course)

It's too bad only a few people have Studio, it seems that things would be a lot easier if a bunch of people were taking on the workload of making STVs. In my opinion, Sage is much less attractive if you take away the hard work done with studio.

Updates on SaegMC

Are there any updates expected in the near future on the SageMC?

I am not sure about the priority list of the functionalities, but some basic features like cancelling the recording schedule, view of Guide with icons for recording, repeating programs are essential features.

MLBdude did a good job on this STV, my wife likes it more then the ones I have made! The only thing I cant figure out is why it will not let the PC go into standby. Anyone else have this trouble?

I am using this stv and standby works---most sometimes. I haven't actually sat down and figured it out but every once in a while i wake up in the morning and the HTPC is in standby mode. Most other days it is not---leading me to the conclusion that it was recording shows sporadically throughout the night. Hmmm, now that i think about it--i don't really record too many shows during off hours...but i have had it go into standby a few times anyway.

I have standby issues too, sometimes work sometimes it doesn't. I always thought it was because of the latest Sage beta, didn't think of any connection to this stv. Maybe it's always scanning for imported video/music, I don't know... I just know that if I just run Sage as a service, standby works 100% of the time. But if Sage just sleeps, going into standby is iffy.

Standby works great with the standard stv and all the STV's I have created for personal use. The SageMC stv does something strange. I can actually see it access the drive every minute or so. If I could find the code thats doing this, I would love to change it.

I don't remember putting in anything that writes or reads from the HD at any kind of interval. One thing to consider is the java class for the Video Library since it can write to the HD however only on user usage. Also, if you are using a beta I would bet it is writing to the log file often.

I don't think it's the STV, it' Sage. I currently have the original STV loaded and sleeping on the tray, it still wouldn't go into standby. I check my Sage directory and found both Sage.properties and sagetv_0_.txt has been updated to the current minute. Sage (I'm running 2.2.5rc, I'll go to 2.2.6 rc later today) is logging all kinds of crap while sleeping.

This is the last few entries on sagetv_0_.txt, it's basically constantly logging preventing my pc from going to standby:
