DVD Playback noob question

Does anyone know if I can route the output of my Radeon to the input of one of the capture cards and timeshift a dvd that is currently playing in the dvd drive in the htpc?

Or would I be better off buying a cheapo dvd player and hooking it to the input of one of the capture cards?

What I'm trying to do is to avoid installing dvd players in two bedrooms by streaming what Sage is playing/recording on the htpc through the MediaMVPs. I realize that I could only watch one dvd at a time (in the two bedrooms), but that's OK.

Thanks in advance. Sorry to be such a noob.

Easier solution: Rip the DVD to the hard drive's video library folder, and then play it back on the clients as an imported video (they even get the full DVD menu that way). http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/DVD

[edit: just realised you are using MVPs... and I don't know if the MVP plugin supports DVD playback yet...]
[Edit2: it does, but only if you re-encode the audio to MP3: http://www.streams.ch/index/mvpclient/issues ]
