demux/remux issues

I'm using SageTV Recorder (w/Hauppauge PVR-250 PCI) and watch most of my recordings on a Hauppauge MediaMVP client. I've noticed that the MVP has trouble with recordings made on SageTV Recorder w/fast-forward, rewind, and one-minute skip (sometimes the files just become unnavigable.) These problems disappear when I demux/remux the file using TMPGEnc, NanoMPEG, BBmpeg or VideoReDo. (Also don't have any issues with DVD's I've authored using files from it.)

Are there any configurable settings in SageTV Recorder that can increase the mux rate, or do something to make the files more playable (for lack of a better term)?

Thanks.

Hi Michael,

I have no experience with SageTV Recorder, but the MVP has audio sync problems with PVR250/350 files with Variable Bitrate (VBR). Using a non-VBR Constant Bitrate recording quality seems to solve that.

For SageTV, the list of recording qualities and the info about VBR is in sage.properties under mmc/python2_encodings. The recorder must have a similar list I guess.
