I use a quad core q6660 and 4gb of ram (the main reason I went quad core was to allow commercial skipping on the server as well)
I use home server for sage and to back up my 3 others pc's throughout the house my family stores all pictures/documents etc on the home server and the pc's are backed up nightly. I don't use it for dhcp functionality as I don't believe WHS can be a DHCP but I could be wrong I have a router/firewall configuration that does all the DHCP handling for me.
