WinTV USB PVR2 - simple question

In an effort to narrow down numerous problems I have running SageTV, I'd like an answer to this question:

On the Hauppage WinTv USB PVR2 I use, there is a red light that glows on the front panel - at least sometimes. As in sometimes that light is on for days but sometimes it goes off soon after I boot up or manually disconnect/reconnect the USB cable or power off/on the unit. Should this light be on all the time the unit has power or is connected via USB? I'm wondering if maybe my hardware is defective and is causing SageTV to work erratically.

Same here. Don't pay any attention to the light. The USB2 is very reliable.
