Which Hauppage is best at MPEG2 Encoding?

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

I love my pvr 250, but truthfully the quality could be better. is there any conventional wisdom yet on which hauppauge (or other!) product gives the best hardware encoding quality?

i'm trying to advise a friend on this matter, which is difficult since I don't know the answer

thanks,
-fodder

(one more question: will the best mpeg 4 quality match the best mpeg 2 quality?)

I believe the 150 has a different colorspace, which could be considered an upgrade over the 250 or 350.
