Is it possible to disable certain recording qualities?
What I'd like to do essentially is set the default for the Plextor to DivX Highest and the default for the PVR150 to Best, and then disable Best on the Plextor. This way, I can force favorites onto a particular tuner.. but I think I heard someone say that if you delete default recording qualities, they'll just return.
An alternative is I could setup 2 customized recording qualities, one for each tuner, and then just set all my favs to one or the other.

If you set a Manual Recording or a Fav to use a specific property, it should only use a tuner that can use that recording quality unless you set scheduler/enforce_qualities_in_schedule=false. From this post... oh, I see I got the info on that from Frey in response to your question about it. Does that not do what you are asking here? Hmmm...
Ohhhh... now I see. (I had to read the question again!) I guess the problem is that you want to use something that can't get used by the Plextor. Two things: 1) It won't matter what you set as the tuner's default, since the Fav's setting will override it; and 2) I don't believe there is a way to remove a recording quality for a specific tuner, or even at all since the default ones get put back if you remove them. (Anyone had a different experience there?) Regarding creating a custom recording -- I'm not sure if there is one that won't use the Plextor, since it can record in MPEG2 also. i.e.: I don't know if you could create a setting that is valid for the Hauppauge encoder but not for the Plextor. - Andy
