New HDTV--Can I do it?
Hi all, there is another thread out there posted by Rogue9 that touches upon this issue but i didn't want to threadjack his with my specs so I started a new one. I am considering purchasing a 50" or so HDTV to go along with my HTPC. I currently only have a 27" SDTV and all works great. My specs:
Athlon 64 3000 1gig Corsair XMS Hauppauge Rosyln (one of the few that works i gather) Powercolor 9600XT NVidia Decoders (new ones) 2 160gb seagate HD's ... Anyway, I have the component breakout dongle for the 9600XT that i planned on using to conect it to the new HDTV. Will there be anything else that I need to do or know about. Will the quality be good? I really do not know much about HDTV so any info would be appreciated. Is my video card powerful enough? What can i do ahead of time to make this an easy 'plug & plan' transition. The last thing i want is to spend $$$$ on a nice TV and have my fiance complain the quality sucks compared to our old one. Thanks JUC |

Just make sure to show your fiance a few DVDs on it, that should pacify them
