FX5200
Got a prv150 and an old 400mx (32meg) video card. They did play nice together. Just bought a evga FX5200 (to replace 400mx). FX5200 is having some screen lockups. I just installed the needed drivers from the CD (nvidia version 5.6.5.5 Date 1/29/2004).
Would updating nvidia drivers help? If so, how and where? Computer: AMD2500, WinXP pro SP1, 512ram, 80gb HD, Thanks Other info: Screen lockups occure when watching WinTV2000 live or Sage live and trying to do something else with computer. TaskManager says I'm only using 16% of my CPU. |

First thing I would do is update the drivers from Nvidia's website. The official drivers are the 66.93 version, but some people here are using the beta version 67.66.
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp If that didn't fix your problem, since you moved up to a DirectX 9 video card, I would update DirectX to the latest version. There may be some gotcha's with that. See this post for more details. http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...hlight=directx |

Here's a more important first thing to do...
Check that the fan and heatsink are connected and working. |
