While theoretically possible, realistically, it adds a couple orders of magnitude of complexity to DirMon.

I will add it to the todo list, but honestly, it's pretty low.

Hi,

One more request, if I may. How about changing the file ignore list to a list that can either be a file exclude (ignore) or file include list. I have the problem where I only want certain files to be processed. For instance I only want to run processors on files containing *StarTrek*.

Any chance of this?

Thanks
Lester

This is a really good idea that (I believe) would greatly extend the usefulness of DirMon. I imagine that you could have one processor that would run on "*.mpg" and another that could run on "*.avi".
Even one that could run on "*StarTrek*.mpg" if a .txt did not exist. (Detect the commercials)
Then another one that would run on "*StarTrek*.mpg" if a .txt did exist. (Cut and compress)
Then another one that would run on "*StarTrek*.avi". (Move the avi and delete the mpeg).

LOTS of possibilities there! Heck, even I'm excited about that!

In writing the GUI for ShowAnalyzer, I've learned a lot more about GUI's than I knew when I wrote DirMon. I am planning on a complete rewrite for DirMon to update it with my newly gained knowledge. This will certainly make it into the rewrite!

I just started using dirmon as Cayars' internal comskip broke on me and, I want to say, what a great program Jere_Jones!!

I was wondering if I could ask a quick question? I can't seem to get the "Do not run processors between..." feature working. I would like comskip to not run between 4pm and 4am. So I put 1600 and 0400 in the two boxes but it doesn't seem to do anything. For example, right now dirmon says:

Quote:
Mon Jun 13 18:54:16 2005: Attempting to execute the following command:
C:\SageTV\SageTV\comskip.exe "F:\RecTV 2\WithoutATrace-8977331-0.mpg"
Mon Jun 13 18:54:16 2005: Waiting for processor to finish.
And it ran 3 process before that which were both after 4pm. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I left my laptop at home, so I can't take a look at the code, but my first two questions are: What verison are you using? and Is the checkbox checked?

Jere,

Ok, dnloaded DirMon, installed, added some directories, checked "Start minimized and processing, and clicked "Start processing".

DirMon checked the two directories, said "nothing to do" and went to sleep. The two directories have lots of .mpg files. What am I doing wrong ?

You have to add a Processor, and tell it you want it to look for mpg files:

Thank you Stanger89, now it makes more sense. I forgot the trigger. It was difficult setting up the program using the "10 foot interface".

Another question. Not being able to obtain ShowAnalyzer (password required), I'm using comskip.exe as the processor, the version that comes with Cayars 18E. Are better versions/programs available ?

I did try to set DirMon up and somehow it does not work for me.

Well I added 2 directories to be monitored. I hade original settings that were set to proces mpeg files and remove anything other than txt etc. I added processor 1 (did choose showanalizer) and I did not put anything in options.

DirMon does remove files with other extensions if mpeg does not exist but it does not work on running showanalizer when video is done recording. What am I doing wrong? I do not see any entries in the log that it would process any new mpegs. This is strange.

Website with instructions is down so I cant check it..

Yep, for some reason my server took down my website. After a support request and a phone call, they couldn't tell me WHY they took it down so they put it back up. Very strange. Canaca.com.

Thank you so so much for such a quick response.

Here is my ini file

; DirMon initialization file
; Copyright (c) 2005
; Jeremiah M. Jones
; DO NOT EDIT MANUALLY
Version = 0.2
StartInTray = 1
Frequency = 10
WhileLive = 1
WhileRecording = 1
Directories = F:\\SageTV,G:\\SageTV
Source = mpg,mpeg,ts
Target = txt,log,ccyes,ccno,xml,chp,cut,smi,srt,sub,vls,wme
[Processor 0]
Path = "C:\Program Files\Dragon Global\ShowAnalyzer\ShowAnalyzer.exe"
Hide = 1
DoesExistLogic = OR
BothLogic = AND
DoesNotExistLogic = AND
[Processor 1]
Path = "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\comskip.exe"
Hide = 1
DoesExistLogic = OR
BothLogic = AND
DoesNotExistLogic = AND

I did set it up to monitor my directory every 10 seconds for testing purposes... Did not want to wait 10 mins to see if it would process anything or not.

I know it does work but somehow it does not start showanalizer on any of my mpeg files.

Thanks so much again for help.

Chris

Take a look at post #129 of this thread. Specifically look at the trigger box of the second image. The mpg is not necessary, but you do need to have txt in one of the Does Not Exist boxes.

Also, I strongly recommend against having two processors that perform the same job. You should remove one of them.

there is under processor heading "Does Not Exist" and I should have txt in there. Now I think its working.

Thanks so much.. I found it on your website under instructions.

Yes, two processors were set just because I could not figure out hw to get it working. If I had one processor I had exactly the same situation where it did not work. I thought maybe one or the other needed some arguments or something... But I removed and started fresh and it still does not work quite well..

Thanks so much for help.

That was the problem, somehow SA did not want to start. I uninstalled it, reregistered and now everything works... Thank you so so so much for your help.

I do not know why it did stop working, yesterday I've installed Sage 3.0.7, today I installed dirmon, I even did earlier run SA from command prompt (maybe thats what caused some problems)

Anyway it seems like its working now. Thank you so much once again.
