Overlay issues

I have my 6600GT hooked up to my TV through DVI. I'm using overlay because sagetv has problems with VMR9+6600GT+DVI (no exclusive full screen mode?). Anyway...When I hit stop or reach the end of a file using overlay, it hangs on a black screen for about 10 seconds before going back to the menu. Some times the computer reboots while hanging in that black screen. After the reboot I get the "computer has recovered from a serious error" message. If I use default or VMR9, I don't have this problem at all. Just massive jerkiness when trying to watch a recording. This is happening with SageClient 2.2.6RC. Has anyone had a problem like this?
