New kid - changing from BeyondTV

Title says it all, but before I go on, I'd like to discuss the move.

1. I've a number of shows/movies, in different folders, will they show up in folders, in order of date of recording?

2. BTV has a dandy little commercial skip option, to "one button" skip over. Does Sage have that? Or do I have to "FF" through them?

3. I've a PVR-250 for recording and a ATi AIW 9800 for viewing - any problems?

4. Anything else I should/might want to know?

5. What is the difference between the recorder and the software.

6. Work with an ATi Remote Wonder?

Sorry if a lot of these have been covered - if so, just point me over t the right area and I'll do the reading.

Your existing videos would be imported videos for SageTV and will show up in the Video Library. There is a PDF manual in your SageTV directory, so you could check out the layout of that screen around p. 80 of the v2.1 manual. I think they are sorted alphebetically, but you can use subdirs to organize imported media.

That would be a customization for SageTV & is in a few custom STVs. in the SageTV Customizations forum, check out the List of available customizations index thread.

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you know that you can't use the AIW (or any software encoder) for recording.

Probably. There is lots of info in the manual.

See What is the difference between SageTV and SageTVRecorder? SageTV will do all your recording; you don't need SageTVRecorder unless you want to set up a networked encoder & even then, it is possible to use SageTV for that now, I'm told.

6. Work with an ATi Remote Wonder?

In the Hardware Support forum, there is an Information Resources for Remotes, Receivers, and IR Blasters index thread. There should be a link for the Remote Wonder somewhere in that list.
