DLL to add initial ATI 550 support

Frey Technologies is now providing initial support for the ATI 550:
  1. Close SageTV completely, including the service if it is running.
  2. Download the attached zip file and extract the file it contains: DShowCapture.dll.
  3. Place that dll file in your SageTV folder, replacing the DShowCapture.dll file that is currently there.
  4. Restart SageTV.
The issues that I was made aware of include:
  • Recording quality settings don't have any effect yet.
  • Multiple ATI 550 cards in one PC will probably not work correctly.
- Andy

Edit: Strange... this thread is open, but all the feedback for the dll seems to have stayed in another thread, from this post on: ATI TV Wonder Elite

.
Attached Files
File Type: zip DShowCapture.zip (51.6 KB, 808 views)

Did the latest v2.2.8 break support for the theater 550 for anyone else? Even though the dll was dated 4/4/05, I had to put the one downloaded here to get it back working.

Since I just downloaded SageTV I couldn't tell you if it "broke", but I can tell you that I needed this DLL to get SageTV to work with my TV Wonder Elite. Before swapping the DLL, I was getting the following pair of errors:

There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-3,0x80040243)
There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback.

There was a Capture Error in playback. Details:
ERROR (-2,0x080070491)
There was a problem using a SageTV component.

...and it still doesn't work "right". I have to completely exit out of Live TV to change the channel, otherwise I get stuck in the black screen abyss.

For the record, the TVWE seems to have volume issues... loud stations are really soft, and I'm cursed with some stations that come in soft to begin with, making them virtually inaudible. The audio decoder needs an amplifier, and it would be spectacular if that setting could be made channel-specific!
