Audio capture to MPEG, finally to MP3
Ok, I have a satellite connection, with lots of audio channels. I've been wondering about recording these overnight, etc., and really chopping down the video, keeping the audio at at least 192kbs rate.
While I can do that, chopping and cutting these up is quite a chore. Does anyone know of some tool that will go through an MPEG file, and when a certain amount of silence is detected, cut the file up, leaving me with several MPEG files? Then I can extract the audio and create an MP3. I'll have to manually sort through the MPEG files to determine what I want to keep, but that seems better than trying to find each spot, cut it out, etc. Anyone know of a tool to help with this, or anyone who has done this? |

All I can say is TimeTrax. Not exactly what you are looking for, but one of the best solutions for a similar activity. It would be incredible if Sage could tie into an XM radio like that and handle tuning and display of artist/song/etc.
