Girder command execution time

Hello,

I finally got my Logitech Remote to work with SageTV through Girder. I had to use girder for the anti-repeat feature. So now that I setup all the events and event strings, I ran into an annoyance. My annoyance is the fact that there is a noticable delay time from the time I press the remote button to the time the action is actually executed. I tried playing with the anti-repeat time but that only makes the command execute more than once. My question is there a way I can speed it up the execution time. I have Girder version 3.3 and SageTV 2.1 installed. Please advise. Thanks. SageTV is awesome btw.

I have used girder with the sendmessage GML and there should be no delay at all. What IR receiver are you using?

jchan1- wheemer's right, that's how i do it to and there's no delay. do you use the sendmessage plugin for girder? if not, see the link for explanation in my signature.

i was thinking you were perhaps executing the sendmessage.exe file (written by opus4) from girder. that's one way to go it but not instantaneous like wheemer's method.

I'm using girder 3.3 w/ sage 2.2 and a cheapo $12 serial port IR adapter (which is actually very well put together) I got on ebay (I hate USB). I actually find it to be faster then using my mouse to control it. If you are using USB, I'd highly recommend one of the serial IR adapters. I just find good ole serial to be more stable and faster for stuff like this. Oh and I hate USB.

Yeah, but serial makes it so much easier, it's just relaying the signal, where usb wants to install drivers and then just hope the drivers don't suck. I just plugged my serial cable in and told girder to use com2 and it worked well right away.
