Did you ever get this running on 6.4.8?

I just now gave up on getting the VOIP (SIP) info and went old fashioned... ran a long telephone line to an external 56k modem. I get caller ID in YAC popup, and all test messages (both through yactester.jar and telnet to the port) result in popups in Sage, but nothing happens when a real call comes in...

any thoughts?

(I am trying to configure this on the server, both Sage and YAC on same machine)

I have been thinking about trying to get this working for my SIP phone. I do know that a SIP TAPI provider would be required and I don't know if YAC installs one. If not, check out SIPTAPI on SourceForge and see if it solves your issues. Again, I have not started playing with getting CID Popups working in Sage yet so I may be off here. In any case, keep us posted on your progress.

I think I may not have been clear. I am not using SIP in any way... I have connected a regular old phone line (2-wire RJ-11) to an external modem. The modem is getting the signal, and the popup shows up (with correct caller id information) in the YAC application.

Also, yactester.jar and telnet localhost port 10629 yield popups in Sage, but a real call coming in does not. I am using the stvi as it has been working for several years I think, I just can't seem to get it to work.

Yes, it still works with 6.4.8...it was a problem with my modem.

I got it working great.

Mental error on my part. I never set up any YAC listener (127.0.0.1 port 10629), so nothing was being transmitted to Sage. Infopopup works like a charm.

Thanks Nielm.

I have been working on a companion plug-in to Nielms infopop to allow caller ID and info message popups to work properly on the HD extenders. I have what seems to be a working Alpha version and I am looking for a few people willing to test this out for a week or two before releasing it to everyone. Please PM me if you are interested in testing this.

One fundamental difference is that you deploy my plug-in which includes a YAC listener to the SageTV server rather than each Extender instance hosting a YAC listener on a unique port. The YAC program now just needs to relay the Caller ID info to the single listener in the SageTV server rather than to a listener in each Extender instance.

This is not a replacement for Nielm's caller ID/info popup, it is an extension to better support the HD extenders. There is no need to use my version if you are not running extenders :-)

Thank You,
shadeBlue

If this alpha works.... I don't get enough phone calls to properly debug this unfortunately. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a full release version, that is for sure.

I would be willing to test. I just setup a perl script on a linux system that I've bridged my Vonage adapter too. I have it modified to listen for calls on Vonage and send the caller ID info to a YAC listener on my sage server. I have all extenders, so I'm pretty dead in the water on any further progress with this.

Thanks!

P.S. here's the thread for the Vonage script (it is initially setup for a Myth add-on, but is easily changable to send a properly formatted message to YAC).

Hi electronics4lif,

I'll post a note to this thread when it is released. It will be available in the "Downloads" section of this forum when it is made available.

Thank You,
shadeBlue

You can use the command line yactextsender.exe included in the wiki. Test the custom images too.

I'd be willing to help I guess. I haven't set up Nielm's original plugin because I only use extenders. So I would have to start from scratch. But I am certainly willing if you need more bodies. Just PM me.

I dunno about this addon but for the original you need to use a special version of YAC.exe that allows IP : port and you need to modify the port setting in each /clients/*.properties files to unique ports.

Make sure the custom image pops up too.

I use the original plugin to send on screen messages from my home automation system. I don't even have a landline, mine says stuff like "Girls it's bedtime" to their screen followed by a power off event and "Exterior motion" when someone approaches outside. It's a freaking great plugin man!

If you are only using extenders and you setup this new plugin to use the default YAC port of 10629, then you don't need the special Nielm version of YAC. If you need to support a SageTV client running on the SageTV server and extenders, then you will probably still need the Nielm modified version of YAC to be able to send the YAC message to multiple listeners on the same computer. It really all just comes down to now many listeners are required on a single computer. My new plugin only needs a single YAC listener port of behalf of all extenders connected to that server.

Thanks,
shadeBlue

My plugin will still support generic messages, and it should support the pictures as well, although, I have not tested that yet.

However, it will not help you if you are wanting to deliver specific messages to individual extenders, my version treats all extenders the same and broadcasts the same message to all extenders.

Thanks,
shadeBlue

This is cool. Thanks shadeblue.com

I can't wait to try it. Can you get caller pics as well?

Picts should work, but I have not tested that in detail yet :-)

Very interesting script... I have no linux systems (which seems like a prerequisite to run this), but can this perl script be compiled into a sage plugin? It would eliminate my need to have a modem connected to my sage server. I would much rather just have pcap running on the machine, and have the plugin sniff the SIP info and send it to YAC... can anyone more savvy than me figure out how to do this, or post instructions?
