Call waiting support?
anyone happen to know if call waiting CID is supported in YAC? More specifically, is it a function of YAC that would allow/disallow this, or a feature of a modem? I want to add this to my system, but because I dont have a modem yet, I want to make sure I get the proper kind.

I am fairly certain that YAC doesn't support call waiting caller ID. If it does I have yet to figure out how to enable it.

Oh well, not a deal breaker, this thing is still too damn cool not to install it!

I enjoy it for the most part. I'm not a huge fan of the logo, and I wish I could display the CID info on the LCD attached to the server. Oh well, some day maybe. Over all its a good program, maybe someone will pick up the source code and add in some of these features.

Yes you can change the one in sage, I'm talking about the pop up client elsewhere on the network.

Can anyone give me some help with setting up the MVP with YAC??? I only have 1.

the plugin running on the server's UI and the plugin running on the MVP's ui conflict with each other if they have the same pot -- like with muliple MVPs -- so either only run it on the MVP's UI, or use the workaround for multiple mvps (different ports/batch script/tester -- see the wiki.)

Thx for input Nielm, as always.
If I am not running Sage on the server (just the Service) do I still have to do all that??? I guess I cannot uninstall STVI (the CID pop up) and woul dhave to do another re-install. Sorry but the batch and test thingy seem awfully confisung for something that was working so fine. Are there instrucstions for setting up the batch files and how to activate it?? Thx for you all seeing help .. again. |

if you are not running Sage (just the service), or do not have the info popup plugin running on the Sage server instance, just import it into the MVP's STV and it should work as normal.
Otherwise you would have to specify different ports in each client/MVP .properties file. I don't have an MVP, so I never tried getting the batch file thing working!

Do you have to set up a substitution for each image that you want to have displayed? I couldn't seem to get images to display unless they were set up under the same name as a substitution.

Jimmyb: have you tried what I wrote 3 posts up -- just import it into the MVP's STV *only*.
If you have already imported it into the main Sage UI, either revert back to an STV that does not have the import, or change the port in the sage.properties file "nielm/infopopup/bind_port" to something other than 10629

Yes Neil. In fact what I did as a final test was to upgrade to the new Beta 4.11. Then reloaded the STVI's BUT not the popup in Sage computer just in MVP. set the MVP for 10629 0.0.0.0 and still no PopUp woking.
I shall try your new version when I get a chance. |

Ok Neil, hate to bore you but I am so close ( I think) and I think it is just ignorance on my part.
After installing the YAC update I was able to get your new YAC listener to send to xxx.xxx.x.110:10630 which is running a client on laptop. This was easy cuz I just went into the Clientproperties file in the laptop and put in the port 10630. The problem is with the MVP. Where do I put the port in??? There is a Client folder in the Sage directory. I have gone into it, found the props for the MAC address client for MVP and made the changes there. No GO! I think the problem is that YAC does not know that DHCP has given the MVP the IP of blah blah:119. When I place that IP xxx.xxx.x.119:10631 nothing happens. Should I try enetring it as the MAC address:10631. Other listeners seem to work fine with either IP or name. |

it is not the IP of the MVP that you need to enter as listener address -- it is the IP of the sage server... (the entire Sage UI is actually 'running' on the sage server, and only 'displayed' on the MVP)..
