Nope, it's not behaving that way. It works while in two current shows, but as soon as the show on the "background" channel is over, if you try to switch back to it, it just displays OSD for the current channel, and does nothing.

If we can get confirmation it does this in the default STV too we can submit a bug report. All I do in SageMC is do a SageCommand call so I doubt I am doing anything to hose it.

I'll see if I can do it later today.

mlbdude, is there anyway to configure one of the "custom1,2,3..." commands (like bound to a remote button) to do the Auto Comskip Enable/Disable command that is in the option menu during playback? I've asked several times, but no one seems to know how to go about doing something like this.

Worked like a charm, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

A feature enhancement. Is there a whay you could prompt for you to insert the DVD when you attemp to play it instead of saying that its an offline DVD??

Thanks for your help.

I will put up an image of how to do this.

Here is the image. NOTE that all of the Custom commands are already in use, but you can find another command not used if you want.

Just add the command widget to the OSD menu. Then drag the highlighted item to it.

I see what you are asking now. No, this STV will alwasy shows Sort By Ttitle sorted by title. Ordering by date only occurs in Sort By Date or in the shows within the group.

I just added new properties to the font colors for the EPG so the next dev build you can just edit the properties file.
You are amazing! Thanks alot MLBdude! If I may, I'd like to request the group by title and sort by newest first ability for some future version? Thanks again!

Great to hear. Thanks for the update.

Speaking of the DVD....

Does anyone know the command line for ZoomPlayer to use as the command line to start ZP when you hit Play DVD?? Ideally it would start in full screen, start in DVD mode and play the DVD...

Thanks,
Jeff

I got another one. This time about the music section. I haven't messed with Sage and Music until your stv because it flat out sucked.

First off DAMN what an IMPROVEMENT over stock Sage. I can actually USE the music section now. Its even easy enough for my wife to use too.. Hats off to you.

There seems to be a small problem though. Some of my older encoded MP3's are silent. Played through winamp they are fine, but played in sage there is silence. I pretty sure they were encoded with LAME and set to alt preset insane or something like that at 256 so I am not sure why they are not playing correctly within sage. Any idea's, is it sages MP3 engine??

Thanks.
Jeff

Sounds like a Sage core item. Have you tried the Winamp plugin to play your songs?

Well, if it continues to be a problem, but it works in Winamp, then this is always an option for you:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14403 Winamp Plugin by Deria

Plus you get a rather cool choice for a visualization, instead of the "cheese" that is standard Sage...

Looks to me like that is what the doctor ordered. I'll have a go at it over the weekend. Anything special I need to know about integrating that with SageMC????

Yes, DO NOT import the import. With SageMC, support is built-in for it. Deria's directions are first rate (they have been revised almost daily, lately), and should get you up and running rather quickly.

Basically, all that is needed it to extract the plugin in the SageTV\SageTV directory, and then make sure you have the latest Winamp installed. There are some options (properties) in the properties file you will have to mess with, but nothing too hard.

REMINDER MLB!

I'm having an issue with the sleep command. It seems that when I sleep SageTV the first time I get, instead of the normal sage screensaver, a 00:00:00 clock rotating around the screen. I can return to Sage using the HOME button... , but then the sleep button won't activate again. QUIT SAGE, and Cancel still work. I'm using SageMC release 10...

THANKS!!

Are you using the winamp plugin? That sounds like what was happening to me when I didn't have it setup correctly.

Do you want that visualization to begin with? These are the properties related to it.

mlbdude/use_winamp_plugin=false
mlbdude/use_alternate_music_visualize=true

If you want the winamp visualization, change alternate music visualize to false.

Not sure if this is your problem or not...

MLB indicated that he thought it might be something he did in one of his releases. But if nobody else has the problem it could be my setup, but I followed all the steps exactly as written. Everything works perfectly, except the sleep button on the 2nd try!

When playing a DVD, if I hit select on any of the menus it will take me to my previous task i.e. watching TV or listening to music. I guess this is because sage does not show an OSD, any Ideas how I get around this?
