Angry Sage TV Recordings moved to Imported Videos after upgrade!!

I just had 480gb worth of "SageTV Recordings" moved to "Imported Video files" when I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2.7, can anyone explain what has happened and why? Is there anyway to get my "SageTV Recordings" to be recognized as such?? All show information has been removed as well.

Steps performed.....

* Shutdown Sage Server and all clients (6)
* Installed the 2.2.7 version on the server and clients
* Executed Sage Server (non service mode) first then as a service.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Doug

Did you remember to copy your properties and wiz.bin files to a safe place? Remember wiz.bin is where all your viewing/recording information is kept. If you overwrite it when you reinstalled Sage without copying those files, then it's like starting over again. The only reason that they are inmported videos is that it appears that wiz.bin was replaced. I believe that this is in the FAQ. You might be able to recover if you have a backup copy of wiz.bin. If you do you should be able to shut down sage copy over the current wiz.bin and wiz.bak for that matter since sage makes a backup. Restart Sage and it might be able to pick them back up. There might be a property that you have to set as well, but I can't recall right now. Check the FAQ I thought I saw a solution there on your specific problem.

That's supposed to be a precaution (not to mention, backed up on a daily basis!). But a in-place upgrade shouldn't overwrite wiz.bin etc should it? How in the hell would anyone ever upgrade? The only thing that makes sense is that the path of the install/upgrade is different than the original -- in that case you would have a clean-slate install though (you would have to setup tuners again etc.), which doesn't sound like a fit either...............

Correct -- an upgrade over the top of the existing SageTV installation should not have this problem. The comment that everyone makes about backing up everything before installing an update is just in case something goes wrong, you'll have the old data to fall back to. Without further details, it would be hard to come up with an idea of what happened here, but like was mentioned above, reverting to an older wiz.bin, if one exists, would be one thing to try.
