Network Drives don't show up?
So this is an odd problem.
I've seen many people in this forum say that they've got their Archives and Import folders on network drives. I also have this setup that way. I've got a Linux Fileserver with Samba enabled...I've mapped the network drives to L for pictures, M for music, and N for movies. Everything is set up perfect to browse and play music via network...however, the drives are NOT present in SageTV. They show up everywhere else and in every program I have installed on the computer EXCEPT sagetv. Any reason why this would be? I've tried to manually set up the drives by specifying the drive letter...but nothing registers...or at least it didn't overnight...how long does it take to refresh? Anyways, help on this would be appreciated! |

Are you running in service mode? If so, services can't access mapped drives. If you want to use mapped drive letters, you can't use the service; if you want service mode, you'll have to use UNC paths. See the bottom of p. 14 in the v2.2 manual.

Doh!
I didn't even know it had a manual! The manual has a perma-spot on my desktop! Thanks! |

My network drives don't show up either. I'm using the SageService and have my file server on an XP box.
My library settings are UNC paths... \\mts-1\Storage (E)\Videos All links using these paths work fine for every machine including my Sage box but just not in Sage itself. I dumped the network paths in sage.properties and sageclient.properties and entered them again, but they're still not there. Any suggestions? |

I figured it out.
When using the SageService, you have to change the login user to an actual user that has network access rights. Open the SageService window and click about....says it all. The format will be .\user |
